Adventure Tours are motorcycle trips for riders who are keen to stretch their limits and enjoy challenges on two wheels. You can expect long days in the saddle on more rugged roads and aggressive routes, on an adventure that promises more than a few surprises! Intrepid bikers, if you have the guts to do it and your riding’s up to it, embark on the kind of trip that comes with a healthy dose of adrenaline.
From design to completion, Vintage Rides humanizes travel. Over 15,000 of you have experienced it around the world.
See all reviewsA guided motorcycle tour where the riding comes first: long days in the saddle, broken roads and gravel tracks, often at altitude or far from towns. It suits riders who ride regularly, feel at ease off the tarmac and want a challenge more than a gentle ride. The theme describes the spirit of the tour, not its level: our adventure tours range from Intermediate (Madagascar, Cappadocia) to Sustained (The Trans-Himalayan, Upper Mustang), and each tour page shows its own.
From June to September, ride Ladakh on The Trans-Himalayan, or The Himalayan Expedition, 24 days in September; also in summer, The Wild Spirit of the Steppe, In the Tracks of Genghis Khan and, in Kyrgyzstan, The Nomad Odyssey. In spring and autumn, head to Nepal (Upper Mustang: Adventure in the Forbidden Kingdom) or Vietnam (Across the Mountain Passes of Ha Giang); from October to March, to India with Rajasthan Adventure; in January, by sidecar in Mongolia’s winter on Frozen Ride.
In north-west Argentina, in March and April or October and November, choose The Highlights of North-West Argentina, the shortest, Raid in Andean Land or Argentina and Chile: From Salta to Atacama. From December to February, Volcanoes and Lakes of Patagonia rides between Argentina and Chile. From April to October, Inca Treasures in the High Andes climbs into the Peruvian Andes. To cross the continent in 46 days, see the two Transcontinental tours: Arequipa to Ushuaia in January and February, and Ushuaia to Arequipa from February to April 2028.
In Morocco, Berber Raid: Conquer the Moroccan Atlas runs in spring and autumn. Further south, The Great Red Island rides Madagascar in April and May and from August to October, An Adventure Tour across Maasai Lands crosses Tanzania in January and October, and Adventure in South Africa leaves Cape Town between September and March. In Europe, Adventure between Sea and Mountains explores Sardinia in May and June and in September and October, and Cappadocia: Journey through Earth and Sky rides Turkey in June and September.
An adventure tour puts riding and commitment first. Our Motorcycle Ramble tours leave more room for sights and scenery, often on shorter stages, but some are just as demanding: go by the level on each tour page. To learn off-road riding before an adventure tour, see our off-road training courses in France and Wales. Freedom offers self-guided tours in the USA, Girls Ride trips for women riders and Luxury Tour stays in charming hotels.
On many of them, yes: the pillion price is shown on the tour page. On the most demanding, The Trans-Himalayan, The Himalayan Expedition, Upper Mustang and Rajasthan Adventure, we advise against riding with a pillion, and Frozen Ride, by sidecar, has no pillion price. On others, such as Kyrgyzstan, Tanzania or Cappadocia, riding two-up calls for real off-road experience. If in doubt, the tour page and our advisers will tell you.
From £1,790 (€1,990) to £5,490 (€5,990) per rider for most: £1,790 (€1,990) for the Berber Raid or Sardinia, £2,690 (€2,990) for The Trans-Himalayan, £3,090 to £3,990 (€3,490 to €4,490) in Mongolia in summer, £4,890 (€5,390) for The Himalayan Expedition and £5,490 (€5,990) in Patagonia. The two 46-day Transcontinental tours cost £11,990 (€13,290), without meals or fuel. The motorcycle and the team are included; add your flights and a £31 (€35) registration fee on your first tour.
