FAQ

The Wild Spirit of the Steppe (10 days, £3,090 (€3,490) per rider) is the most accessible, with most of the route on steppe tracks and a few river crossings. In the Tracks of Genghis Khan (14 days, £3,990 (€4,490)) is longer and calls for stamina. The Frozen Ride (8 days in January, £4,390 (€5,490)) is a sidecar expedition at down to minus 40 °C, for extreme adventurers only.

All three are adventure tours: long stages, far from first aid, on tracks and damaged roads, with weather that can turn difficult. You need to ride regularly and be in good shape, and off-road experience is strongly recommended.

Yes on the two summer tours (£2,690 (€2,990) on The Wild Spirit of the Steppe, £3,290 (€3,690) on In the Tracks of Genghis Khan), if your passenger is used to long days on tracks. On the Frozen Ride, two participants share a sidecar and swap at the handlebars every hour or so.

A Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 on the summer tours, and a sidecar on the Frozen Ride.

The Mongolian summer: our steppe tours depart from May to August. The Frozen Ride runs in the middle of winter, in January.

In simple hotels in Ulan Bator and small towns, in yurt camps and with nomad families: a unique experience, where comfort is sometimes basic.
