This Morocco motorcycle tour is a one-week getaway that takes us into total immersion, reigniting our desire to explore the Central High Atlas of Morocco.

You’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. This first day is the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of Marrakech, the ideal starting point for your Africa motorcycle tour. An ancient imperial city and cultural heart of Morocco, it lies just a few kilometers north of the high Atlas mountains. Explore its fascinating architectural heritage, stroll through the lively alleys of the medina’s souk, and savor your first local specialties. Overnight in a comfortable hotel in the city center.

Marrakech – Bin El Ouidane :

The adventure begins early in the morning as we set off on our journey to the Berber lands of the High Atlas. It’s a long leg today, taking us to Lake Bin El Ouidane. We leave the plain after an hour and a half’s drive to climb the first slopes of this massive and magnificent mountain range. In the afternoon, we put ourselves, and our bikes, to the test on several sections of track, before reaching the Ouzoud Waterfalls, the highest in the kingdom. Then, in the late afternoon light, so perfect in Morocco, we round off this first stage at the Bin El Ouidane reservoir.

Bin El Ouidane – Imilchil :
3/7 • Bin El Ouidane – Imilchil :
We head deep into the heart of the Atlas Mountains and gain altitude. After lunch, we’ll climb once more and won’t drop below 2,000 metres until tomorrow afternoon. We’ll either ride to the colossal rock formation known as the Imsfrane Cathedral, followed by the Asif Melloul Gorges, or we may opt to take a little-used track used only by local herders and farmers, which immerses you in the most authentic aspects of these mountains. Before ending the day in Imilchil, your guide may offer you the option of a final detour to the granaries of Aoujgal. An unforgettable day in the heart of the magnificent landscapes of the Moroccan Atlas Mountains.

Imilchil - Dades Gorge

A short morning loop to the north-east to explore the natural lakes of Tislit and Isli. Continuing our adventure southwards towards the Dades Valley, we once again traverse the mountainous terrain, which never ceases to offer surprising variations, both geological and in terms of its woodland. Travelling along one of the highest roads in this mountain range, we are then captivated by the deep canyon that precedes the Dades Gorges proper. Even in the height of summer, this journey offers us refreshingly cool temperatures.

Dades Gorge – Happy Valley

We drive through the Dades Valley, which widens out and offers a few interesting photo stops. Then a stretch of track confirms that you are indeed on the southern slopes of the High Atlas; ochre and red hues dominate the landscape, where clusters of oleanders make unexpected appearances. After lunch, we climb the highest pass of the trip (3,005 m), descend, and cross another pass at nearly 3,000 m, before finally reaching the lush Tabant Valley, known as ‘The Happy Valley’. A day of adventure rich in variety, set against the backdrop of these Moroccan landscapes that never cease to amaze you.

Happy Valley – Marrakech
6/7 • Happy Valley – Marrakech
Just because it’s the last day of riding doesn’t mean it’s over, or that we’re heading home! This stage is just as enchanting and fulfilling, taking us through a succession of charming Berber villages nestled in a landscape where the blend of red and green is strikingly reminiscent of the country’s flag. And one last mountain pass at 2,200 metres, absolutely splendid, before finally descending towards the plain, where we’ll encounter traffic and possibly the heat as we approach the city. A night in a comfortable hotel and an evening in the old town to bid farewell to vibrant Marrakech.

This raid is reserved for experienced pilots. It includes long stages far from first aid. Primary assistance to reach the nearest medical center is mainly provided by our assistance vehicle, means such as helicopters or ambulances being very rare. Unstable telephone networks can occasionally make contact with emergency services difficult. As with any mountain itinerary, the quality of the roads and the difficulty of the route depend on the weather conditions during and before the trip.
