Morocco

Our Morocco motorcycle tours cost £1,790 (€1,990) per rider for the 7-day tours (The Wonders of the Atlas Mountains, The Gateway to the Desert, Berber Raid) and £2,190 (€2,490) per rider for the 8-day tours (The Argan Tree Route, From the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Dunes). A pillion pays £1,490 (€1,640) on the 7-day tours and £1,790 (€1,990) on The Argan Tree Route. A registration fee of £31 (€35) applies on your first trip with us. Private and tailor-made tours are also possible on request.

Included:

• Royal Enfield motorcycle, fuel, spare parts, parking fees and tolls
• Third-party motorcycle insurance
• An English-speaking motorcycle guide, a mechanic and a support vehicle for the luggage
• Accommodation in twin or double rooms (single room on request, with a supplement)
• Full board: all meals, water, tea and coffee
• Airport transfers and visits as per the itinerary
• 24/7 emergency telephone assistance

Not included: international flights, medical and repatriation insurance (compulsory), cancellation insurance (recommended), an international driving permit if required, a refundable deposit of €600 per motorcycle, drinks, tips and personal expenses.

It depends on your riding experience and on the Morocco you want to see:

• The Wonders of the Atlas Mountains: our classic tour from Marrakech, with high passes, the Dadès Gorges and Berber villages. The best all-round first taste of Morocco by motorcycle.
• The Gateway to the Desert: western Morocco, from the Tizi n’Test pass to the Anti-Atlas, Tafraoute and Essaouira, entirely on tarmac.
• The Argan Tree Route: a loop from Agadir between the Atlantic, hidden palm groves and the coastal desert, alternating small roads and easy tracks. Our winter tour.
• From the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Dunes: from Aït Benhaddou to Zagora and M’Hamid, for those who dream of the desert, with more tracks.
• Berber Raid: Conquer the Moroccan Atlas: the most demanding, with 5 to 6 hours of riding a day through the Central High Atlas, Imilchil and the Happy Valley.

Yes. It is close to Europe, the roads are quiet once you leave the cities, and all our tours come with an English-speaking guide, a mechanic, a support vehicle and 24/7 assistance, in a group of 12 motorcycles at most.

For a first trip, choose one of our three Accessible tours, which follow secondary tarmac roads with only a few easy tracks ridden at low speed: The Argan Tree Route for a gentle start, The Gateway to the Desert for the most comfortable ride, or The Wonders of the Atlas Mountains for the widest variety of landscapes. If you are unsure of your level, our off-road training courses in France are a good way to prepare.

A Royal Enfield. In Morocco our fleet counts 30 motorcycles: 20 Himalayan 450, built for adventure riding, and 10 Classic 350, better suited to the road. The Argan Tree Route, From the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Dunes and Berber Raid are ridden on the Himalayan 450; The Wonders of the Atlas Mountains and The Gateway to the Desert on either model, confirmed at booking.

Every motorcycle is serviced by our local mechanic before and during the tour, and spare parts travel with the group in the support vehicle.

On every tour you need a motorcycle licence and regular riding experience on the open road. Beyond that, our Morocco tours come in two levels:

• Accessible (The Wonders of the Atlas Mountains, The Gateway to the Desert, The Argan Tree Route): mostly tarmac, with a few easy tracks ridden at around 25 mph (40 km/h). No off-road experience required.
• Intermediate (From the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara Dunes, Berber Raid): 5 to 6 hours of riding a day, more frequent tracks and a good level of fitness. You should already be comfortable on gravel and uneven ground.

Even on the Accessible tours, expect some bumpy roads: adventure is part of every Vintage Rides trip.

Fly to Marrakech, or to Agadir for The Argan Tree Route: both airports have direct flights from many UK and European cities. We meet you at the airport on day 1. Departures run from September to June, with The Argan Tree Route in winter, from November to March. UK and EU passport holders do not need a visa for a stay of up to 90 days; for other nationalities, our team will confirm the formalities.
