This motorcycle tour in Argentina will take you through the high Andean plateaus, between imposing volcanoes and deep canyons, and allow you to discover green oases such as the vineyards of Cafayate. Explore the Valley of the Moon, the Abra del Acay, the highest pass in America, and the mountain with 14 colours. Don't miss an excursion to Chile to explore the Atacama Desert, the driest in the world, with its lunar landscapes, active volcanoes, colourful lagoons and fascinating archaeological sites.

Bienvenido a Argentina ! Your South America motorbike tour begins in Salta, at the foot of the majestic Andes mountain range. This historic city will be the starting point for an unforgettable adventure through breathtaking landscapes, between mountains, valleys and deserts. Get ready to discover the soul of Argentina on your motorcycle.
2/13 • Salta - Iruya
First day on the motorbike! We leave Salta via the magnificent winding road No. 9 heading north. We then enter the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a mountain range listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which offers a palette of colours ranging from ochre to yellow, purple, green and red! We then take a 50 km track with the Condor Pass at 4,000 m to reach Iruya, a remote village perched at 2,780 m surrounded by cliffs.

3/13 • Iruya - Cusi Cusi
If we get up at dawn, we may be lucky enough to see condors rising from their nests above the canyon. Today's stage takes us towards the Bolivian border to reach the ‘Valle de la Luna’ (Moon Valley). A regional nature park where, as its name suggests, we explore a lunar landscape at an altitude of 3,800 metres and spend the night in a tiny village forgotten by the world...

4/13 • Cusi Cusi- Susques
From Cusi Cusi, we will spend the day on the legendary Route 40, which is 100% off-road! We will travel to the small weaving village of Susques for the night at an altitude of 3,700 metres.

5/13 • Susques - San Pedro de Atacama
Today we're heading to Chile! The Paso de Jama border at an altitude of 4,200 metres awaits us as we cross the Andes mountain range from east to west! A completely desolate area where we won't see a soul for over 200 km through the mountains. Arriving in Chile via the Atacama Desert is simply magnificent! We are treated to a vastness that few places in the world can offer. A view stretching over 250 km in every direction... Welcome to the driest desert in the world!

6/13 • San Pedro de Atacama - Rio Grande
San Pedro de Atacama is a village in the middle of the desert where everything is concentrated, so we will stay there for three nights. Today we travel through the Valley of the Moon, 15 kilometres of track on another planet in the middle of salt mountains! On the way to Rio Grande for lunch, the great canyons of the desert open up before us and their small winding roads are ideal for our motorbikes. At the end of the day, the sunset over the desert from the heights of the ‘Piedra del Coyote’ is a unique moment...

7/13 • San Pedro de Atacama - Geysers del Tatio
We set off in the dark this morning... We hit the trail at 6 a.m., guided by the light of the Himalayan headlamp and the rising sun... A breathtaking two-hour ride between volcanoes to arrive in the cold at an altitude of over 4,300 metres. At the end of the track, a field of boiling geysers! These 80 geysers at the foot of the Tatio volcano account for 8% of all the geysers in the world... The third largest field on earth. A totally improbable place that we discover at dawn, as this is the best time to appreciate its fumaroles. On our way back, we get lost on a small track along the Bolivian border before descending into the Atacama Desert.

8/13 • San Pedro - San Antonio de Los Cobres
The return to Argentina is via the same border crossing, as the other nearby border has not reopened since Covid. We cross the Andes mountain range again at an altitude of over 4,900 metres and reach the small mining town of San Antonio de los Cobres, perched at an altitude of 3,750 metres. ** Itinerary subject to change depending on border openings/closures.

9/13 • San Antonio De Los Cobres - Cachi
A magnificent day of endless twists and turns! We descend from an altitude of 4,000 metres to 1,000 metres down the Quebrada del Toro, then climb back up to 3,700 metres in a few hours via the Cuesta del Obispo... The majestic mountains and paved roads are even more impressive today!

10/13 • Journée de pause à Cachi
A day off to discover the charming Andean village of Cachi, picturesque and authentic, overlooking the valley from an altitude of 2,500 metres. It's nice to stroll in the shade of the central square... A visit to the museum offers an immersion into the pre-Inca, Inca and Spanish eras. The local vineyards are also open to visitors. Lunch is at your leisure today.
11/13 • Cachi - Cafayate
Back on the 40! From track to track, we arrive at the hidden Brealito lagoon, located at an altitude of 2,700 metres. A gem of the north-west, a lunar landscape of rock formations sculpted by earthquakes, erosion and time. These rock spires pointing towards the sky open onto an exceptional track, a real treat for us and our motorbikes.

12/13 • Cafayate - Salta
On our last day of motorcycling, we continue our journey to Cafayate, crossing the Quebrada de Las Conchas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a hundred kilometres through a huge canyon formed by the oceans millions of years ago! You will discover impressive colours and rock formations, ranging from ochre to gold, green, red and yellow! Arrival in Salta. Overnight stay at a hotel.

This raid is reserved for experienced pilots. It includes long stages at high altitude (passes > 4500 m) far from first aid. Primary assistance to reach the nearest medical center is mainly provided by our assistance vehicle, means such as helicopters or ambulances being very rare. Limited telephone networks and a ban on satellite phones can make contacting emergency services difficult. As with any mountain itinerary, the quality of the roads and the difficulty of the route depend on the weather conditions during and before the trip.
