Rajasthan is best visited outside the hottest months. The best times for a motorcycle trip to Rajasthan are from October to mid-December and from mid-January to March, as these periods offer milder temperatures both day and night. December-January can be cool at night in the Thar Desert, while April-June is very hot and the monsoon runs from July to September. Our guaranteed departures follow this pattern: they are concentrated between October and March.

This is Rajasthan’s iconic, culture-rich route: Pushkar, Jodhpur, Ghanerao, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, Bundi, Ranthambore National Park (safari included) and Jaipur. The route alternates small country roads with the occasional off-road section (including a possible free-ride on the salt lake at Sambhar, conditions permitting).

A sportier, off-the-beaten-track route: Alwar, Jaipur, Pushkar, Ghanerao, Jalore, Barmer, a night under the stars in the Thar Desert, then Jaisalmer (return to Delhi by internal flight). Each stage includes a variable share of off-road riding (often sand) ranging from 13% to 40%, with a distance-weighted average of around 20-25% off-road across the whole route.

The required level depends on the route chosen:

Intermediate level: The Land of the Maharajas

This tour is mainly ridden on small secondary roads. Daily riding stages of 5 to 6 hours repeat every day, so good physical fitness is needed. Sections on rideable tracks can be frequent.

Sustained level: The Rajasthan Adventure

This raid involves long stages, sometimes rough tracks and sometimes difficult weather conditions. Good physical fitness and regular motorcycling practice are needed, although the Royal Enfield’s relaxed pace softens the technical difficulties. Off-road experience is a real plus.
