Chasing the Nomad Caravans costs £1,890 (€2,090) per rider and £1,490 (€1,740) per pillion for 7 days, including 5 riding days, on a fixed-date departure in a group of 10 motorcycles at most (12 participants with pillions). A registration fee of £31 (€35) applies on your first trip with us. Private and tailor-made tours are possible on request.

Included:

• Royal Enfield motorcycle, spare parts, fuel, parking fees and tolls

• Airport transfers in a private vehicle
• An English-speaking motorcycle guide, a mechanic and a support vehicle for the luggage
• Standard accommodation in twin or double rooms (single room on request, with a supplement)

Not included: international flights, medical and repatriation insurance (compulsory), cancellation insurance (recommended), visa fees if any, dinner on day 1, drinks, entrance fees unless stated in the programme, a refundable deposit of €600 per motorcycle, tips and personal expenses.

The tour is rated Intermediate. Of the 684 miles (1,100 km), about 112 miles (180 km) are off tarmac, on tracks that are sometimes sandy: only 16% of the distance, but 25 to 30% of the riding time. With 5 to 6 hours of riding a day over several days, you need regular riding experience, some confidence on loose ground and good physical fitness.

A Royal Enfield Himalayan 411, the model best suited to this terrain: sandy tracks, climbs in the Dahar mountains and sudden changes between tarmac and dirt. The standard seat height is 800 mm, or 790 mm with the lowered seat, which is worth knowing for shorter riders.

Yes, one pillion per motorcycle, at £1,490 (€1,740). As the tour includes long days and regular sections of sometimes sandy track, your pillion should be comfortable with this kind of riding. The support vehicle carries the luggage, so you do not have to load the motorcycle.

The tour covers about 684 miles (1,100 km) over 5 riding days:

• Djerba to Tataouine: 146 miles (235 km)
• Tataouine to Ksar Ghilane: 121 miles (195 km)
• Ksar Ghilane to Douz: 99 miles (160 km), plus an optional loop of 47 miles (75 km)
• Douz to Matmata: 155 miles (250 km)
• Matmata to Djerba: 115 miles (185 km)

That leaves time for visits, lunch stops and encounters along the way. The off-road sections are slower, which is why they take a larger share of the riding time.

Yes. Girls Ride x Wildust Sisters: Chasing the Nomad Caravans follows the same route, in a group of women riders, with departures from 23 to 29 May and from 24 to 30 October 2027, at the same price.

Fly to Djerba, where we meet you at the airport and take you to your accommodation in Houmt Souk. International flights are booked separately, so you can fly from the airport that suits you. UK and EU passport holders do not need a visa for a short stay; for other nationalities, our team will confirm the formalities.
