This motorcycle tour in Argentina is one of the most extraordinary experiences you can have, transporting you to a world of breathtaking landscapes, authentic human encounters, and exciting challenges. For eleven days, you ride your motorbike through the mountains, volcanoes, lakes and forests of Patagonia, a mythical region located at the southern tip of Argentina and Chile. You'll cross spectacular roads like the Carretera Austral, Ruta 40 and the legendary Ruta 3, stopping off at fishing villages, national parks, ice caves and glaciers. As well as the cultural aspect, motorcycling in Patagonia is also a sporting adventure, with driving challenges to match the landscapes you cross. You'll tackle dirt roads and rocky tracks with the support and advice of your experienced motorbike guide. All in all, Vintage Rides' Patagonia motorbike trip is an extraordinary adventure that combines culture, nature, sport and freedom in an exceptional setting.

1/14 • Arrival in Bariloche
In the heart of Patagonia, San Carlos de Bariloche is our base camp for this new South America motorbike tour. Situated in the south-western part of the Rio Negro province, on the shores of the imposing Lake Nahuel Huapi, the town with its Swiss Alpine atmosphere is a haven of peace in the middle of nature. The glacial waters of the lake are great for swimming in summer. Overnight in a comfortable hotel
2/14 • Bariloche - San Martín de los Andes
Our first few kilometres begin on one of Argentina's most legendary roads, the "Route of the 7 Lakes". This is a section of the famous Route 40, which crosses the entire country from north to south, skirting the Andes mountain range. A day full of beautiful tarmac bends between primary forests and Andean lakes to get to grips with our bikes. The friendly little town of San Martin de los Andes welcomes us for the night on this beautiful first stage. Night in a comfortable hotel.

3/14 • San Martin de los Andes - Junin de los Andes
We leave Lake Lácar behind and continue on Route 40 through cypress forests. This day offers us some magnificent wilderness scenery before arriving at the foot of the Lanín volcano, which bears the same name as the national park in which it is located. Located on the border between Argentina and Chile, it rises to an altitude of 3,776 meters and is one of the most emblematic symbols of the region. Overnight in a standard hotel.

4/14 • Junin de los Andes - Villa Pehuenia
We branch off onto the ‘Ruta 23’, popular with motorcyclists as it passes through less touristy areas and allows us to explore picturesque villages and national parks. As we approach Villa Pehuenia, we'll see araucaria trees, symbols of the region, and mountains. Villa Pehuenia is a charming mountain village where the Mapuche culture, the region's indigenous people, is still very much alive. Overnight in a standard hotel.

5/14 • Villa Pehuenia - Curacautin
Today we cross the border into Chile to visit the Conguillío National Park. It is famous for its varied landscapes, including araucaria forests, lakes, volcanoes and impressive rock formations. One of the park's main attractions is the Llaima volcano, one of Chile's most active volcanoes. We will sleep at the foot of the volcano in a standard hotel.

6/14 • Curacautin - Pucon
We leave La Baita and drive through the varied landscapes of Chile's Lake District. We pass close to the Huerquehue National Park, renowned for its lakes, hiking trails and panoramic views. Continuing on, we enjoy views of the Villarrica volcano, which dominates the landscape. Overnight in a standard hotel.

7/14 • Pucon - Licanray
Setting off from Pucón, the road winds through forests, with the Villarrica volcano in the background, and we pass a few villages that add a local touch to our journey. The Villarrica volcano is not only an impressive natural site, but also holds cultural significance for the indigenous Mapuche people, who consider the volcano a sacred place. The air gradually freshens as we approach Lican Ray, where Lake Calafquén lies with its peaceful beaches. Overnight in a standard hotel.

8/14 • LicanRay - Valdivia
On this 8th day, we went in search of the Pacific Ocean and found it at the end of the pontoon. We descend from the mountains for a moment to touch the sandy beaches of southern Chile with our feet. We leave behind the fresh glacial waters of the great Andean lakes for the salty, salmon-coloured waters of the ocean. The narrow cliffside roads take us to Valdivia, the estuary of 4 major rivers flowing into the Pacific. An unforgettable sunset facing the ocean awaits us at the end of the day... Night in a comfortable hotel.

9/14 • Valdivia - Futrono
Between beaches, forests and mountains, we take the track for 111 miles of small bends. We head back towards the Andes and regain some height. The great Puyehue volcano, which dominates the region, gives us our bearings. At its foot, Lake Ranco and the small town of Futrono welcome us for the night in a SPA hut hotel.

10/14 • Futrono
Today we enjoy a free day in Futrono, a quiet little town on the shores of Lake Ranco. Everyone is free to choose their own pace: relax on the beaches, explore the surrounding hiking trails or stroll through the centre to discover the local artisans. Nature lovers can take a trip to the nearby waterfalls or venture out kayaking on the lake. The day ends with a convivial dinner, where you can share your discoveries and moments of relaxation.night in a standard hotel.

11/14 • Futrono - Huilo Huilo
Our bikes, dusted off the day before during the break, are once again ready to take on Chilean tracks and miles of mountain roads. We set off from Futrono in the direction of the Huilo Huilo reserve. The road crosses landscapes of lakes and mountains and skirts around the Mocho Choshuenco volcano, offering beautiful views along the way. We pass through a number of villages where we stop to discover a little of the local life. As we reach Huilo Huilo, the forest becomes denser and the vegetation more present. Overnight in a charming hotel.

12/14 • Huilo Huilo - Villa Traful
We set off from Huilo Huilo towards Traful, with a day full of adventure ahead of us. The road takes us through forests and along rivers, creating the perfect backdrop for our journey. As we cross the border back into Argentina, we discover a whole new landscape. As we approach Traful, the mountains appear on the horizon, promising new panoramas. This day allows us to take full advantage of Chilean nature before arriving at our next destination. Night in a standard hotel.

13/14 • Villa Traful - San Carlos de Bariloche
We set off from Villa Traful on our last day of motorcycling towards San Carlos de Bariloche. As we approach Bariloche, the vegetation changes and we discover coniferous forests lining the road. This marks the end of our motorbike adventure. Overnight in a standard hotel.

This raid is reserved for experienced pilots. It includes long stages far from first aid. Primary assistance to reach the nearest medical center is mainly provided by our assistance vehicle, means such as helicopters or ambulances being very rare. Limited telephone networks and a ban on satellite phones can make contacting emergency services difficult. As with any mountain itinerary, the quality of the roads and the difficulty of the route depend on the weather conditions during and before the trip.
