To the enchanting rhythm of the Royal Enfield Himalayan's single-cylinder engine, we set out to conquer the high passes of the Atlas, defying the aridity of the Sahara and discovering the endless Berber villages that adorn the verdant valleys. This Morocco motorcycle tour is a week-long escape that transports us into a total change of scenery, rekindling our desire to explore the central Moroccan High Atlas.

You are welcomed at the airport before your transfer to the hotel. This first day is an opportunity to dive into the hustle and bustle of Marrakech, an ideal starting point for your Africa motorcycle tour. An ancient imperial city and cultural heart of Morocco, it is located a few miles north of the high peaks of the Atlas. Explore its fascinating architectural heritage, stroll through the lively alleys of the medina's souk, and savor your first local specialties. Overnight in a comfortable hotel in the city center.
Marrakech – Bin El Ouidane:
2/7 • Marrakech – Bin El Ouidane:
The adventure begins early in the morning as we start our journey towards the High Atlas, seeking coolness. The longest stage leads us to climb the majestic High Atlas towards Lake Bin El Ouidane. Starting from the sunny plain of Tadla, near the famous Marrakech, we ride through this plain, seeking the heart of the Atlas. In the afternoon, we reach the Ouzoud waterfalls, the highest in the kingdom. After an invigorating stop, we take picturesque trails towards the Bin El Ouidane reservoir, where we stay overnight.

Bin El Ouidane – Imilchil:

Starting from Lake Bin El Ouidane, we delve into the Atlas via winding roads to the colossal rock pinnacle "Cathédrale Imsafrane". Traversing the famous gorges along the Assif Ahancal river, we reach Anergui for lunch in a rural guesthouse. Crossing isolated passes, we discover the magnificent lakes of Tislit and Isli, before ending the day in Imilchil, the capital of collective marriage in the Atlas. An unforgettable experience in the heart of the sumptuous landscapes of the Moroccan Atlas.

Imilchil - Dades Gorges

Continuing our adventure southwest towards the Dadès Valley, we once again cross mountainous reliefs that rival the majesty of the central High Atlas. Taking one of the highest trails in this range, we are fascinated by the deep canyons and imposing limestone slabs that line our route. Even in the middle of summer, this crossing offers us refreshing climatic coolness.

Dadès Gorges – The Happy Valley

We ride in the morning on superb small roads and take a tea break in a troglodyte cave. Passing through a tunnel, we ascend in altitude through the deep canyon of the Amejgag gorges in the Western Atlas. Gradually descending, we reach the verdant valley of Ait Bouguemaz and visit a paleontological site with traces of herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs. A day of adventure rich in discoveries in the heart of Moroccan landscapes.

The Happy Valley – Marrakech
6/7 • The Happy Valley – Marrakech
This morning, we cover about a hundred miles on paved roads crossing a succession of charming Berber villages established on warm red clay lands. Then, we change direction northwest to reach the last miles of the famous Tichka mountain pass, which leads us to Marrakech. We take a lunch break at the foot of the Atlas Mountains before continuing our route towards the Marrakech plain, where we encounter intense traffic as we approach the city. Overnight in a comfortable hotel and evening in the old city for a farewell to vibrant Marrakech.

This raid is reserved for experienced riders. It includes long stages far from first aid. Primary assistance to reach the nearest medical center is mainly provided by our support vehicle, as means such as helicopters or ambulances are very rare. Unstable telephone networks can occasionally make contact with emergency services difficult. As with any mountain itinerary, the quality of the roads and the difficulty of the route depend on weather conditions during and before the trip.
