Motorcycle Rambles are guided tours that blend riding with discovering a country: mostly small roads, easy gravel in places, and plenty of time for local culture and encounters. The level depends on each tour, from Accessible to Sustained: check the level badge on the tour page. Passengers are welcome.
For anyone who rides regularly and wants to discover a country at a gentler pace, solo, as a couple or with friends. Every tour comes with an English-speaking tour leader, a mechanic and a support vehicle for your luggage.
From design to completion, Vintage Rides humanizes travel. Over 15,000 of you have experienced it around the world.
See all reviewsA guided small-group tour that gives as much room to discovery as to riding: stages usually of 4 to 6 hours, mostly on small roads, with easy gravel in places, and days planned for stopping along the way. The theme describes the spirit of the tour, not its difficulty: it suits riders who ride regularly and would rather see a country than rack up the miles.
From October to March, Asia: Rajasthan, South India (The Great Crossing, Goa, The Spice Route), Sri Lanka, Thailand (Getaway, Best of), Laos, as well as Colombia (Coffee Route, Highlands), Rwanda and Morocco’s Argan Tree Route. In spring and fall: Morocco (Atlas, desert, dunes), Tunisia, Turkey, Greece, Albania, Nepal, Bhutan, Ecuador (Crossing of Worlds, Volcanoes & Amazon). In summer: the Himalaya and Indonesia.
That of the tour you choose: each tour page shows its level badge. If you are at ease on a bumpy back road, pick an Accessible tour: The Wonders of the Atlas, At the Gates of the Desert, The Argan Tree Route, The Treasures of Anatolia, The Road of the Gods, The Crossing of Worlds, Volcanoes & Amazon Expedition. Most are Intermediate: 5 to 6 hours a day and frequent easy gravel. Along the Mekong is Sustained, with long stages and some rough tracks.
A Motorcycle Ramble balances riding and sightseeing. An Adventure Tour has longer stages and more gravel, for experienced riders. Freedom tours are self-guided, with a roadbook, in the Black Hills of South Dakota, where you can also simply rent a motorcycle. The Luxury Tour slows the pace further, in charming hotels. Adventure motorcycle training teaches off-road riding in France and Wales. Girls Ride editions run our routes with women only, like Chasing the Nomad Caravans in Tunisia.
Yes: every tour in this theme has a passenger price, lower than the rider’s. Small roads suit riding two-up; on Intermediate or Sustained tours, gravel and long days call for a rider at ease with someone on the back. If in doubt, ask our team which tour suits you best. A group has 10 motorcycles at most, 12 participants with passengers. On Girls Ride tours, the passenger signs up with a woman rider.
