Marrakech Airport Stage 1/7
Marrakech Airport
You are welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy this first day to discover Marrakech, an ancient imperial city and the epicenter of Moroccan culture, a perfect starting point for your Africa motorcycle tour.
Marrakech - Taroudant Stage 2/7 155 miles
Marrakech - Taroudant
To reach Taroudant, we cross the Atlas mountain range and traverse the sunny plains of Souss. We take the mythical Tizi-n-Test pass, which offers breathtaking views of the Atlas. We arrive in the Souss plain, which we follow up to the ramparts of Taroudant.
Taroudant - Tafraoute Stage 3/7 93 miles

The Anti-Atlas mountain range rises before our wheels, majestic and bewildering. The turns follow one another as the road penetrates this 300-million-year-old range. The landscape never ceases to surprise. We arrive in the afternoon in Tafraoute, which means “The one hidden from view” in Berber.
Tafraoute - Imouzzer Stage 4/7 124 miles
Tafraoute - Imouzzer
Towards the Atlantic Ocean, we once again cross the mountainous reliefs that protect Tafraoute, and the palm groves and fortified villages scattered along the road accompany us to the coolness of the plains. We arrive in Imouzzer and enjoy the last mountain ranges that stand before us.
Imouzzer - Essaouira Stage 5/7 109 miles
Imouzzer - Essaouira
Heading towards Essaouira, a whole new landscape surrounds us. We enter the winding canyons of the Atlas, bordered by palm trees and rivers. We take the time to stop for tea and enjoy the view offered by these surprising geological sculptures.
Essaouira - Marrakech Stage 6/7 118 miles
Essaouira - Marrakech
We turn our backs to the Ocean to reach Marrakech on our trusty Royal Enfield Classics. The landscapes scroll by with each mile. Expected arrival in the late afternoon.
Marrakech - Airport Stage 7/7
Marrakech - Airport
Depending on your flight schedule, you have time to enjoy a few more hours of Marrakech's many charms. Transfer to the international airport.

  • A Royal Enfield motorcycle and spare parts.

  • Fuel, parking, any tolls.

  • Third-party motorcycle insurance.

  • Mandatory insurance: insurance covering medical expenses on site. Repatriation assistance, which covers you in case of 2-wheel accidents (large displacement).

  • Legal insurance and cancellation insurance highly recommended.

  • The international driving permit.

This ride includes some long stages far from first aid. Primary assistance to reach the nearest medical center is mainly provided by our support vehicle, as means such as helicopters or ambulances are very rare. Unstable phone networks can occasionally make contact with emergency services difficult. As with any mountain itinerary, the quality of the roads and the difficulty of the route depend on weather conditions during and before the trip.
