After visiting a site of old churches and basilicas from the Portuguese era, as if they had all been neatly arranged in one corner, it's our first encounter with the Western Ghats, this mountain range that we will ride alongside at the beginning and end of the journey.

Primary assistance to reach the nearest medical center is mainly provided by our support vehicle, as means such as helicopters or ambulances are very rare. Limited telephone networks can make contact with emergency services difficult. As with any adventure itinerary, the difficulty of the route depends on weather conditions, both during and before the trip.
