As someone who has ridden and restored motorcycles for the most part of the last 50 years, but who has never ridden off-road at all, this was the perfect first experience for me! The quality of the organisation, logistics, accommodation and instructor/guide, coupled with the perfect motorcycle for the job, allowed me to both enjoy the experience to the max whilst also leaving me to fully focus on the riding, learning a huge amount about the techiques needed, but also about my own capabilities and limits, all the time feeling perfectly secure! The people of Nepal were welcoming and friendly, and, even though the roads were much rougher than I believed they would be, the Royal Enfields we rode handled it all beautifully and helped boost my confidence level greatly.

The Wonders of the Atlas Mountains

Out of the five trips I have been on with Vintage Rides, this is the one I felt most disconnected with. I was looking forward to the trip, but by day 3, I just wanted to ride by myself. I am will to and have spent over 10,000 to go on trips ( Pamir Highway) , my next trip the Malle Artic challenge in August is over 7000 euros, but I would not spend this on a vintage rides trip.

Madagascar - new experience without any stereotypes - yes, there are lemurs and baobabs, but that’s not the end of story. So nice and open people, super clean and unspoiled nature, nothing is overcrowded, life is easy. Before I had impression, what Madagascar’s roads are in super bad condition - only red mud. So, it’s not true at least in dry season and on RN7 - from Antananarivo to Toliara. Motorcycle is the fastest option, but still you travel slow - by meeting people, feeling hot sun or sudden rain or smelling all kind of odors.

scenery and cultural experience with visiting historic sites and tasting local cuisine. This was supported by an excellent guide and mechanic. Tremendous tour group with great energy and fun. Definitely would use Vintage Rides again for a future motorcycle tour.
