First experience with Vietnam. Hanoi and the North definitely created the best memories for me - the Riding experience, natural beauty and different but all charming cultural groups. The Vietnamese are a happy, hard-working and welcoming people for all foreign visitors. Amazed that every roadway was hard-surfaced and in good shape. Made for more aggressive riding. Glad I "caught North Vietnam" now when I did before eventual modernization and land development changes take hold. Final note - wonderful bonding between French, Canadian, American team members and VR Crew. Comradery was great, as usual.

This was an adventure and a real eye opener to how people live in other countries with so little. I loved interacting with the locals, as well as being in nature with the lemurs and baobab trees. I found it quite hard at the beginning with the twisty roads, pot holes, zebus, dogs and suicidal chickens but it became easier as the ride progressed. Definitely an adventure not to be missed.
