Arrival in Olbia
Arrival in Olbia according to your flight schedule. Transfer to your hotel in Tempio Pausania, located in the region of the famous Monte Limbara granite massif. In the early evening, you’ll take part in a full briefing with the tour leader to prepare you for the adventure and officially kick off this Europe motorbike tour.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast with our hosts, we get familiar with our Himalayan bikes. We quickly dive into the adventure with an ascent to Monte Limbara, which dominates the region at 1,359 m (4,455 ft). Between fast tracks used in the World Rally Championship (WRC) and stops in authentic inland villages, we cross the Gallura region to reach the eastern coast and spend the night in Cala Gonone by the sea, at the gateway to Gennargentu National Park, home to the island’s highest peaks.

Today we discover the diversity of Sardinia. In the morning, we leave behind the silvery reflections of the Mediterranean and the Gulf of Orosei and gradually head into the heart of Gennargentu National Park, with its steep cliffs and winding gorges. As we progress, you’ll be fascinated by this wild landscape, blending splendor and ruggedness. We then follow the peaks of the La Marmora mountain range with breathtaking viewpoints before descending into the valley and arriving in the charming village of Nurallao, where we spend the night.

Today we leave Nurallao via rolling tracks through meadows and quickly reach the Gesturi plateau, renowned for its wildlife and flora reserve. After observing the herds of wild horses, we explore the trails of the Monte Arci State Forest before finally reaching the west coast of the island and the Sinis Peninsula. We enjoy this well-deserved break to admire the unparalleled panorama, visit the remains of a Phoenician colony, and stroll along the white sand beach of San Giovanni.
Riola Sardo – Porto Torres Stage 5/7 112 miles (180 km)

Today’s program is all about sea, sun, and adventure! Between white sand dunes and turquoise waters, we ride the sandy coastal track northward along Sardinia. In the morning, we head inland for a few hours to enjoy the cool shade of the oaks and strawberry trees of Monte Ferru, an incredible volcanic formation overlooking the coast. We then take the winding road north to Alghero and enter the Porto Conte Regional Park, undoubtedly one of the highlights of our adventure. We recommend taking the time to visit the majestic Neptune’s Grotto, a true karstic wonder of the island’s west coast and a Mediterranean gem.

To conclude our island tour, we now head east to return to the starting point of our journey, the village of Tempio Pausania. This northern part of the island contrasts with what we’ve seen over the past days and reminds us of the St. Tropez coastline, with its private beaches and luxury villas. We soon return inland to experience the authenticity and raw beauty that define the island. Final tracks and trails through the Limbara mountain range lead us back to Tempio Pausania by the end of the day, where we enjoy the hospitality of our Sardinian hosts one last time.

This adventure tour is for riders who already have some off-road experience: around 60% of the riding time is on rolling but technical tracks, from rocky trails to sandy tracks along the sea. The support vehicle cannot follow on most off-road sections: it takes the nearby road and meets the group afterwards. Pillions are not recommended, unless you ride two-up with solid off-road experience. If you lack experience, we recommend one of our off-road training courses first.

What is the route of Adventure between Sea & Mountains?

A 7-day loop from Olbia, with 5 riding days and about 466 miles (750 km). From Tempio Pausania, at the foot of Monte Limbara, you cross the Gallura on World Rally Championship tracks to Cala Gonone on the Gulf of Orosei, ride through Gennargentu National Park to Nurallao, then over the Gesturi plateau and its wild horses to the Sinis peninsula. A day of sandy coastal tracks leads north to Alghero, Porto Conte and Porto Torres, before a last ride through the Limbara mountains back to Tempio Pausania.

How much off-road riding is there, and what level do I need?

It is an adventure tour rated Intermediate: around 60% of the riding time is on rolling but technical tracks, from rocky trails to sandy tracks along the sea. You need some off-road experience; the support vehicle cannot follow on most track sections and meets the group on the road. Stages of 78 to 112 miles (125 to 180 km) take 5 to 6 hours in the saddle. How much does the tour cost and what is included?

£1,790 (€1,990) per rider and £1,490 (€1,650) per pillion. The price includes the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 with fuel, spare parts and third-party insurance, an English-speaking motorcycle guide, a mechanic and a support vehicle for the luggage, hotels in twin or double rooms, full board from dinner on day 1 to breakfast on day 7, entrance fees and airport transfers. Flights, drinks, your insurance and a refundable deposit of €600 per motorcycle are not included. A registration fee of £31 (€35) applies on your first trip with us.

Can I bring a pillion?

Pillions are not recommended on this tour, given the share of technical tracks, unless you ride two-up with solid off-road experience. The pillion price is £1,490 (€1,650).

When does the tour run?

In spring and autumn, away from the summer crowds on the coast. The next departures are from 18 to 24 October 2026, then in May, June, late September and October 2027. The group is limited to 10 motorcycles.

How do I get to Sardinia, and what should I bring?

Fly to Olbia, in the north-east of the island: we meet you at the airport and take you to Tempio Pausania, where the tour starts and ends. International flights are booked separately.
