Dreaming of escape and adventure? Join one of our Africa motorcycle tours and discover this vast continent on a legendary Royal Enfield: the Atlas and the Sahara in Morocco, the desert of southern Tunisia, the coastal roads of South Africa, the savannah of Tanzania, the hills of Rwanda and the red tracks of Madagascar.
On every tour, an English-speaking motorcycle guide leads the way, a mechanic takes care of the bikes and a support vehicle carries your luggage and spare parts. You ride a Royal Enfield, a Classic 350 or a Himalayan depending on the tour, and focus on the road.

Each African destination has its own season, so you can ride in Africa almost all year round:
The style describes the kind of trip, not its difficulty: each tour page shows its riding level, Accessible, Intermediate or Sustained.
Our Adventure in South Africa tour runs from September to March, during the southern spring and summer, on the coastal roads, mountain passes and wide open spaces of the country. Riding in a small group with like-minded riders lets you share unforgettable moments on the road. See our South Africa motorcycle tours.
Often overlooked, Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills, is one of the most beautiful destinations for a motorcycle tour in Africa: lush mountains, vast lakes and exceptional wildlife. Rwanda is also one of the few places in the world where mountain gorillas live in the wild. Discover Rwanda: The Land of a Thousand Hills, ridden from January to February and from June to September.
From design to completion, Vintage Rides humanizes travel. Over 15,000 of you have experienced it around the world.

Morocco. Three of its tours are rated Accessible and stay mostly on pavement: The Wonders of the Atlas, At the Gates of the Desert and The Argan Tree Route. Tunisia and Rwanda, rated Intermediate, add smooth dirt roads, with some sand in Tunisia. Madagascar, also Intermediate, calls for experience on badly broken roads. Tanzania and South Africa, rated Sustained, are for riders already comfortable off pavement.
In Morocco first: The Wonders of the Atlas, At the Gates of the Desert and The Argan Tree Route are among our easiest tours for two, with very little off-road riding. In Tunisia, Rwanda and South Africa, it works if your passenger is fine with dirt roads. In Madagascar, the rider needs two-up experience, and in Tanzania you should already have ridden off-road together. We advise against it on the Berber Raid and From the Atlas to the Sahara Dunes.
From $2,390 to $5,290 per rider, depending on the destination and the length:
A passenger pays less, from $1,990 in Morocco. What each price covers is detailed on the destination page.
Mostly in East Africa. In Tanzania, Raid in Maasai Lands includes a full-day 4×4 safari in Tarangire National Park. In Rwanda, The Land of a Thousand Hills includes a safari in Akagera National Park, and a mountain gorilla trek is optional. In Madagascar, entrance fees to the Ranomafana, Anja and Isalo parks, home of the lemurs, are included. In South Africa, the itinerary features a jeep outing in a reserve near Montagu.
