Bienvenido! Embark on a Colombia motorcycle tour of over 746 miles in the heart of the coffee triangle, between Caldas, Risaralda and Quindío. Between Andean bends, lush green hills and colourful colonial villages, discover a region rich in landscapes and encounters. From Medellín to the coffee plantations, you'll cross forests, valleys and winding roads, lulled by the sound of your Royal Enfield and Colombian music.

You will be welcomed at the airport and transferred to the lively El Poblado district, in Medellín city centre. Check into the hotel and enjoy a free day. Take a stroll and appreciate the climate: the city is located at 1,500 metres above sea level, in a beautiful valley, earning it the sweet nickname of the city of eternal spring. Wander around Botero Square and admire the sculptures by the artist of the same name. Medellín is the ideal place to enjoy your first cup of coffee, discover local flavours and begin this South America motorbike tour. Overnight at the hotel.
Medellín - Jardín

Early morning departure from Medellín to avoid traffic and enjoy the cool mountain air. Stop in Santa Fe de Antioquia, a former regional capital, to admire its colonial architecture. Continuing south-west, the route passes through spectacular rural landscapes: lush green hills, coffee plantations, small traditional villages and mountain panoramas. Arrive in the late afternoon in Jardín, one of Colombia's most beautiful villages, renowned for its colourful architecture and authentic atmosphere. Overnight at the hotel.

Departure after breakfast. We delve a little deeper into the coffee region via a beautiful track that leads us to discover the landscapes of Caldas, typical of this region. A local lunch revives us, and we hit the road on a beautiful ribbon of asphalt for Salamina, a lesser-known but equally charming coffee village. Overnight at the hotel.

Today, we gain altitude in the high Andean lands, where each bend opens onto majestic panoramas and increasingly wild nature. After an intense and inspiring day of riding, arriving at Termales del Ruiz offers a moment of pure pleasure: relaxing in the hot springs, surrounded by mountains, to conclude a stage as demanding as it is memorable. We continue our journey towards the very colourful village of Salento. Our route first takes us to Manizales, a dynamic city nestled in the highlands and one of the three capitals of Colombia's coffee triangle. We quickly leave the main road to discover the Colombian countryside and its always welcoming inhabitants. We then follow the Otún River, which offers us some beautiful off-road sections. Perched at 2,000 m above sea level, the village of Salento will be our base for the night and the following day. This village of a thousand colours has certainly earned its title as one of Colombia's most beautiful villages. Overnight at the hotel.

Today, we discover a unique place: the spectacular Cocora Valley and its famous wax palms, the tallest in the world. A unique, majestic landscape, towering in the middle of a lush green mountain valley. After a well-deserved meal, we will have our coffee at a traditional finca. Upon our return, we will enjoy the last rays of sunshine falling on this colourful town. Overnight at the hotel.
Salento - Ibagué

We leave the colourful village of Salento for a day of winding roads through the mountains. Today we will pass through another main city of the coffee triangle: Armenia. The road plunges us into the heart of wax palm forests, majestic and emblematic trees of Colombia, up to the famous Santuario de Palma de Cera La Carbonera, a natural sanctuary offering breathtaking landscapes and an almost mystical atmosphere. After this immersion in nature, we descend towards Ibagué, a regional capital where culture, architecture and urban comfort await us. Between spectacular nature and cultural discoveries, this stage promises both adrenaline and wonder. Overnight at the hotel.

Expect lush green valleys, picturesque panoramas and stretches of preserved nature, punctuated by wooded hills and charming villages such as Alvarado and Mariquita. The journey then takes you to the authentic village of Honda, located at 400 m above sea level, where you can enjoy a stroll through its narrow and picturesque streets, admire the colonial architecture and feel the unique atmosphere of this historic town on the banks of the Río Magdalena. We leave Honda, heading towards the Rio Claro natural reserve. As is our custom, we will take the back roads. This time on the plains, we will often encounter horsemen never far from their beautiful haciendas. Upon arrival, we enter the reserve for a refreshing swim in the clear waters of the aptly named Rio Claro. The specificity of the place lies not only in its crystalline river but also in its many marble caves. Possibility of stopping at Pablo Escobar's house along the way. Overnight at the hotel.

The day begins with tracks that will require some effort, but at the end, a reward: a beautiful winding and traffic-free road in a lush green setting. Our objective for the day: the rainbow village of Guatape and its famous monolith Piedra del Penol, which we will discover tomorrow. Overnight at the hotel.

On the programme for this last day, the ascent of Piedro El Penol. The view from the summit is well-earned: after 750 steps, a breathtaking 360-degree view of the lake and the region. A final meal with Colombian flavours in the centre of Guatape and we get back on our bikes for this last stage, via small roads, to reach Medellin. Photo stops are frequent as we arrive from the heights, at over 2,500 m above sea level: we enjoy the last impressive viewpoints. Overnight at the hotel.

  • This raid is designed for experienced riders, it includes a few long stretches, often far from immediate medical assistance. Primary aid in reaching the nearest medical center is provided by our support vehicle, as helicopters and ambulances are rarely available. Limited phone coverage and restrictions on satellite phones can make contacting emergency services challenging. Additionally, as with any mountain route, road quality and difficulty are heavily influenced by current and prior weather conditions.
