This was a truly amazing experience and I really enjoyed the trip. The island is stunning with so much variety in the landscapes and terrain. The Vintage Rides experience was fantastic, very professionally run. The focus is on more than solely the ride, but connecting with the local culture which is personally why I choose VR. I personally would have liked a little more challenge and more off road - but this was a filmed trip and I understand the limitations.

Madagascar - new experience without any stereotypes - yes, there are lemurs and baobabs, but that’s not the end of story. So nice and open people, super clean and unspoiled nature, nothing is overcrowded, life is easy. Before I had impression, what Madagascar’s roads are in super bad condition - only red mud. So, it’s not true at least in dry season and on RN7 - from Antananarivo to Toliara. Motorcycle is the fastest option, but still you travel slow - by meeting people, feeling hot sun or sudden rain or smelling all kind of odors.

This was an adventure and a real eye opener to how people live in other countries with so little. I loved interacting with the locals, as well as being in nature with the lemurs and baobab trees. I found it quite hard at the beginning with the twisty roads, pot holes, zebus, dogs and suicidal chickens but it became easier as the ride progressed. Definitely an adventure not to be missed.

Madagascar was a big discovery for me. The landscapes are sublime, and the arrival on the Gulf of Mozambique a superb reward after a rather intense adventure. Once, at a stopover, I felt the reluctance of the locals to welcome our group of vahaza, but on the whole the Malagasy are very warm?

Honestly an exceptional and memorable trip. Very nice little group of people to share it with. Not too bad on the food and fair accommodation. I personally would be happy to pay more for better accommodation and food generally. (But I'm also aware of the fact that budget isn't an issue for me, so I might not be your typical client). Loved visiting a country that's not a common tourist destination - None of my friends have been for example. Riding was pretty comfortable, and loved the scenery throughout.
