Great team, great organization…

A great team, a good organization and always beautiful destinations but ..... I couldn't find anywhere else to put this comment: you really should review your experience level criteria. I don't claim to be an off-road expert and when I choose a trip with a "Sustained" level, I expect to suffer and lag behind, not end up with a majority of broken arms who haven't ridden in over 20 years for some and who have little or no off-road experience! Honestly, I'm reluctant to set off again with VR because of the disparity in skill levels between riders. When I travel to discover a country and take landscape photos, I rent a 4x4 with a driver, or I take the chic and charming RV option like my buddy David ;-). On a more serious note, "Supported" trips should only be available to experienced riders, or a "Rider" category should be created for those looking for a "motorcycle" experience rather than a "photo" experience. This trip to Mongolia can be summed up in one word: Grandiose. Great for its landscapes, its geography, its wild beauty. Great for the people we met, their smiles, their culture. Grandiose for the organization that allows us to live every moment in safety, making the most of every moment. It's a unique and total change of scenery.

I was delighted to discover Mongolia with Vintage Rides. I found the support team absolutely top-notch: available, attentive, competent and, above all, very friendly. I found Mongolia magnificent, with its wide, often empty spaces as far as the eye could see, its animals in semi-liberty, its hills and lakes. The two nights spent with nomads added a touch of authenticity to the trip. As far as I'm concerned, wonder and discovery were a daily occurrence. I also really appreciated the RE Himalayan motorcycle, which I found very well suited to the terrain. I had a lot of fun, despite my lack of off-road experience. It was a real pleasure to cross the many river fords, to ride on sand, steppe, mud... I think we all had a lot of fun. In my opinion, this trip is accessible to all types of biker: in my opinion, physical fitness is more important than the off-road experience, which can be quickly apprehended on the circuits where Vintage Rides takes us. In short, it was a wonderful adventure. I'd love to do it all over again. Why not the Himalayas next year?

I don't know where to write this comment. The trip was fantastic, but this year I was very disappointed by the supposedly sustained level of the trip. For me, not to put in the sustained category too light in terms of number of hours of motorcycle riding and speed! I'll try to explain. Having done the Transhimalayenne last year, I was bored this year. I thought I'd rediscover the spirit of surpassing oneself and riding a motorcycle with difficulties and a steady pace, but not at all. I'd put this trip in the intermediate category. Personally, the pace was too light, with not enough hours of motorcycling in the day and a snail's pace. We're here to ride, not to wait for people who decide to take photos every 10 minutes. ?

The Wild Spirit of the Steppe
An amazing experience - Mongolia is a great country to explore, with friendly people and massive landscapes that go on for ever. Suitably challenging off-road riding, wonderful group of travelling companions, and particularly well guided by Tuk. Himalayans are the ideal bike for this environment.

Overall, we loved this adventure. Despite some bodily and ego damage as a result of it, we enjoyed this immensely. Tuk, our guide, was fabulous; the group we were with all bonded despite not even speaking the same language! We absolutely loved the scenery, particularly how it changed over time. We didn't particularly like the tarmac sections due to the condition of the road - and even less so when it was raining and one couldn't see the holes. Tuk very cleverly organised our travel to avoid rain when possible. Professional team who we really appreciated.
