Since 2006, Vintage Rides has been designing motorcycle tours far from the usual tourist routes. In South America, most tours are led by an English-speaking motorcycle guide who opens the way on the most beautiful roads and tracks, while a support vehicle carries your luggage and a mechanic takes care of the bikes. You travel light and focus on the ride.

You ride a Royal Enfield, the Classic 350 or the Himalayan 450 depending on the tour: simple, robust and easy to handle, on paved mountain roads as well as on the gravel of the Andes.

  • Adventure Tour: long days in the saddle on rough roads and high passes, for experienced riders. This is how we ride Route 40 in Argentina, the Andes of Peru and the Transcontinental.
  • Motorcycle Ramble: 4 to 6 hours of riding a day with plenty of time for local culture, as in Colombia and Ecuador.
  • Tailor-made: ride one of our itineraries with your own group of friends, on your dates, or let our team design a trip for you.

South America motorcycle tours: your questions

It depends on the region, and the seasons are reversed compared with the US. Patagonia is ridden in the southern summer, from December to February. Northern Argentina and the Atacama are best in the southern fall and spring. Peru runs from April to October, Ecuador from May to November and Colombia from January to April.

Our Motorcycle Ramble tours in Ecuador are the most accessible, with 4 to 6 hours of riding a day and plenty of time for local culture. Each tour page shows its riding level.

Most of our South America tours are led by an English-speaking motorcycle guide, with a mechanic and a support vehicle for your luggage. Each tour page details exactly what is included.

A Royal Enfield: the Classic 350 or the Himalayan 450, depending on the tour.

Bring your US driver’s license and an International Driving Permit, issued in the US by AAA or AATA. When you book, our team confirms exactly which documents each country requires.

No, international flights are not included, so you can choose your own route. Airport transfers at the start and end of the tour are included.
