Arrival in Osh Stage 1/11
Arrival in Osh

Welcome to Osh, one of the oldest cities in Central Asia. Gateway to Kyrgyzstan and a historic crossroads on the old Silk Roads, the city is your first immersion in the Kyrgyz world. After the welcome and check-in, you take time to explore Osh and meet the local team. Tomorrow, the motorcycles are waiting to take you into the great Kyrgyz open spaces. Night in a hotel at 1,000 m.

Osh - Arslanbob Stage 2/11 103 miles
Osh - Arslanbob

You leave Osh towards Uzgen, an ancient Silk Road city. After its Karakhanid monuments and its Uzbek bazaar, you head for the mountains and the village of Arslanbob. In the afternoon, a short ride on a forest track takes you to a waterfall, before a superb view over the valley. An accessible first day in the saddle, between culture and the first dirt roads. Night in a guesthouse at 1,500 m.

You leave Arslanbob for a fine day's riding through the landscapes of southern Kyrgyzstan. The highlight is the Naryn gorges, where the road winds for almost 50 km along a ledge above a turquoise river. You then continue to the Toktogul reservoir, ringed by mountains. A day rich in scenery that ends facing the turquoise waters of the lake. Night in a guesthouse at 990 m.

Toktogul - Kyzyl-Oi Stage 4/11 124 miles

You leave Toktogul and climb the green Chychkan gorge before crossing the Ala-Bel pass at 3,175 m, the first great pass of the trip. After the Suusamyr valley you drop into the spectacular Kokomeren gorge, lined with red cliffs. A beautiful mountain day that brings you to Kyzyl-Oi, a small village tucked at the bottom of the gorge, where you discover Kyrgyz hospitality. Night in a guesthouse at 1,800 m.

Kyzyl-Oi - Son Kul Stage 5/11 87 miles
Kyzyl-Oi - Son Kul

You ride back up the Kokomeren gorges before gaining altitude towards the Kara-Keche pass at 3,384 m. A first fine stretch of track then leads you to the vast Son Kul plateau, where the lake appears among the summer pastures. You reach your yurt camp on the shore and enjoy an evening at the pace of nomad life, between sunset and a starry sky, far from any light pollution. Night in a yurt at 3,000 m.

A day out of time on the shores of Son Kul. You set off for an easy loop around the lake, between rolling tracks, nomad camps and wide-open spaces. If you feel like it, the ride can extend to a nearby panoramic pass. In the afternoon, immersion: a horse ride with the nomads, a look at their pastoral life, or simply a quiet moment by the water. A gentler day, ideal for making the most of Son Kul and acclimatizing to the altitude. Night in a yurt at 3,000 m.

Son Kul - Kol-Suu Stage 7/11 155 miles

You leave the shores of Son Kul for a long crossing of the Kyrgyz high plateaus. The track takes you towards the Naryn valley, then climbs gradually to the remote territories of Ak-Say and Kok-Kiya, in a mineral landscape where the mountains seem to stretch forever. You finally reach the surroundings of Kol-Suu, one of the most spectacular lakes in Kyrgyzstan. Perched at almost 3,500 m, its turquoise waters are hemmed in by impressive granite cliffs. A wild setting, worthy of this 250 km day. Night in a yurt at 3,500 m.

Kol-Suu - Tash Rabat Stage 8/11 112 miles

You leave Kol-Suu and its high-altitude landscapes to continue through the wild valleys of southern Kyrgyzstan. The tracks wind between arid mountains and vast pastures, with the high peaks of the At-Bashy range as a backdrop. Little by little you reach the Tash Rabat valley, home to one of the historic treasures of the trip: the Tash Rabat caravanserai, a remarkable 15th-century stone building set at almost 3,500 m in a spectacular valley. Night in a yurt at 3,200 m.

Tash Rabat - Kazarman Stage 9/11 155 miles

You leave Tash Rabat for one of the wildest days of the trip. A long track takes you across the high plateaus to the Kulak Ashuu pass at 3,390 m and the MELS/Borulu Ashuu pass at 3,262 m, between red badlands, sweeping views and ancient nomad mausoleums. After refueling in Baetov, you carry on along a faster track to Kazarman, crossing the Ak-Moinok pass at 2,932 m. An intense, spectacular day in the most remote landscapes of Kyrgyzstan. Night in a guesthouse at 1,300 m.

Kazarman - Osh Stage 10/11 140 miles
Kazarman - Osh

Last day of riding: you leave Kazarman for Osh, crossing the mountains and the Fergana valley. If conditions allow, you take the new Kok-Art tunnel, 3.7 km long, before continuing to Jalal-Abad. Depending on its seasonal opening, a variant on the Kaldama track may be offered. You then reach Osh across the Fergana plain. After almost 1,800 km of road and track, the loop is complete, without ever retracing your steps. A last evening to share memories over a farewell dinner. Night in a hotel at 1,000 m.

Our Kyrgyz adventure comes to an end. After breakfast, transfer to the airport according to your flight time. Time to leave Kyrgyzstan with the great open spaces, the encounters with local people and the many kilometers of track and road covered on our motorcycles in mind. End of the adventure.
