This itinerary is a loop of striking contrasts, between the Atlantic Ocean, desert plateaus, and the Anti-Atlas mountains. At the handlebars of the Royal Enfield single-cylinder, we ride along wild coasts, cross palm groves, explore oases, and journey through mineral valleys sculpted by time. This week-long trip combines cultural discovery and immersion in magnificent nature, amidst perched agadirs, Berber villages, and ancestral kasbahs. Moving from the sea to the desert, then from the desert to the mountains, we rediscover that feeling of freedom that drives us and never leaves us. Accessible and varied, this circuit is ideal for a first Morocco motorcycle tour, alternating small roads and easy tracks.

You are welcomed at Agadir airport and transferred to your hotel. Take advantage of this first day to soak up the atmosphere of this lively seaside resort, nestled between ocean and mountains. With its large beach, corniche, and fishing port, Agadir is an ideal gateway for this Africa motorcycle tour.
Agadir - Mirleft Stage 2/8 99 miles
Agadir - Mirleft
Departure on small roads through dunes and pine forests. Visit the Souss-Massa National Park and stop at an argan cooperative. Lunch with fishermen before reaching Mirleft via a beautiful coastal road. Overnight in a hotel with ocean views, perfect for getting into the travel mood.
Mirleft - Tighmert Stage 3/8 130 miles
Mirleft - Tighmert
Discovery of Legzira beach and Sidi Ifni, then immersion in the coastal desert. Pass by Plage Blanche and have lunch in an old French garrison. The day alternates between coastal roads and easy tracks, offering varied landscapes until Tighmert. Overnight in the palm grove, in the heart of a peaceful environment.

Route to Amtoudi and its agadirs, unique testimonies of Berber history. Lunch in the village before reaching Icht via an alternation of small roads and tracks. The end of the day allows you to enjoy the colors and light of the mineral landscapes of southern Morocco.

The road follows wadis and crosses spectacular gorges. Lunch in a preserved oasis, then a mining track towards Tata. The semi-desert landscapes stretch as far as the eye can see, offering unique panoramas of the Anti-Atlas. Overnight in Tata, a welcoming oasis city.
Tata - Tizourgane Stage 6/8 118 miles

Ascent towards the Anti-Atlas mountains. Break in a still-inhabited agadir and lunch with locals. Last miles on a beautiful track before reaching Kasbah Tizourgane, perched on its rocky spur. Free evening to enjoy the site and the panoramic view.
Tizourgane - Agadir Stage 7/8 121 miles
Tizourgane - Agadir
Varied route between mountains and perched villages, with an excursion towards Timjicht. Picnic lunch amidst argan trees. Return to Agadir in the afternoon to conclude the loop, with time to recall the discoveries of the week.

This discovery tour suits beginners and couples: about 720 miles with 15% easy gravel, between the Anti-Atlas and the Atlantic coast. Please bring soft bags rather than hard cases.

Some stages are far from medical facilities: first aid and transport to the nearest medical center rely mainly on our support vehicle, as helicopters and ambulances are rare, and phone coverage can be patchy. As on any adventure route, road conditions depend on the weather during and before the trip.

The Argan Tree Route: your questions

How is this tour different from your other Morocco tours?

It is our only Morocco tour starting from Agadir: 8 days with 6 days of riding, between the Atlantic coast (Mirleft, Legzira, Sidi Ifni, the Plage Blanche) and the oases and hilltop villages of the Anti-Atlas, as far as Tata and the kasbah of Tizourgane. The Wonders of the Atlas and At the Gates of the Desert start from Marrakech and last 7 days. For more off-road riding, From the Atlas to the Sahara Dunes and the Berber Raid are for riders who have already ridden off-road.

What riding level do I need, and is there any off-road?

The tour is rated Accessible: a motorcycle license and regular riding are enough, which makes it a good first motorcycle tour abroad. About 15% of the route is on easy dirt roads, the rest on small coastal and mountain roads. Some stages are far from medical help: the support vehicle follows the group.

How far do we ride each day?

About 720 miles over 6 riding days, so 99 to 143 miles a day. Expect a full day in the saddle, with stops (an argan cooperative, fortified granaries, beaches) and lunch on the way, sometimes with a local family or as a picnic.

Which motorcycle will I ride, and will it suit my height?

A Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, serviced by our mechanic, who follows the group with the spare parts. A lowered seat is available: if your height makes you hesitate, either way, talk to your travel advisor before booking.

Can I bring a passenger?

Yes, this is one of our best tours for riding two-up: little off-road, and the luggage travels in the support vehicle. The tour costs $2,990 per rider and $2,390 per passenger.

Who leads the group, and how many of us are there?

An English-speaking motorcycle tour leader and a mechanic, with a support vehicle that carries your luggage and the spare parts. The group is limited to 10 motorcycles (12 participants with passengers).

How much does it cost, and what should I budget for on top?

$2,990 per rider and $2,390 per passenger. The price includes the motorcycle, gas, the team, lodging, all meals from dinner on day 1 to breakfast on day 8, the planned visits and transfers from Agadir airport. You pay for your flights, drinks, tips and a $708 deposit per motorcycle.

How do I get to the start in Agadir?

The tour starts and ends in Agadir, and you book your own flights: from the US, you usually connect through Europe or Casablanca. Our team meets you at the airport on day 1 and takes you back on day 8, according to your flight times. Day 1 is free to enjoy the beach and the harbor. To arrive earlier or stay longer, ask your travel advisor about the options.

When does the tour run, and what is the weather like?

Departures run from November to March, away from the heat of southern Morocco; open dates are shown on this page. Days are mild, but mornings and evenings can be cool, especially in the Anti-Atlas: bring a warm layer and rain gear.

Where do we stay, and what luggage should I bring?

In standard to comfort hotels and guesthouses, including a night facing the ocean in Mirleft and another in the kasbah of Tizourgane, perched on its rocky spur. The support vehicle carries your luggage: bring a soft duffel bag rather than a hard suitcase.
