Welcome to Thailand! You are greeted at the airport and transferred to your hotel. First free day in Chiang Mai, a fascinating city that marks the beginning of your motorbike tour in Asia. Its architectural heritage is breathtaking, with no less than 300 temples to discover before setting off on the mythical roads of northern Thailand.

Your journey begins heading southwest of Chiang Mai. You enter Doi Inthanon National Park (8415 feet). You continue due West on a beautiful mountain road, with passages on ridges.
Mae Hong Son - Pai Stage 3/12 106 miles

Today we continue on the famous road with 1864 turns. We then delve closer to Burma via small picturesque paths. En route, you stop at Tham Lod, and go for an excursion on a traditional bamboo raft.

After crossing 2 successive mountain ranges, we spot a sign indicating 25 miles to Chiang Mai. We then take the opposite direction and head North towards the Burmese border, which we will be less than 6 miles from tonight!
Thaton - Golden Triangle Stage 5/12 93 miles

You continue further North, following the Burmese border. The journey continues on a winding road to Doi Mae Salong, known for its Chinese mountain village, Santi Khiri, an opportunity to taste some of Thailand's best teas and coffees. You then ride along the Mekong to Chiang Saen.

This morning, we take the morning to enjoy the region of the three borders - Thailand, Laos, Burma, which is a symbolically strong place, considered the cradle of Thai civilization. After lunch by the Mekong, you leave Chiang Saen, following the Mekong for a few miles then head due south. Between rice fields, pineapple or other fruit and vegetable plantations, you reach Chiang Rai.

Today, we enjoy the city of Chiang Rai. On the program: visit of the White Temple, the Blue Temple and the Pong Phra Bat Hotsprings. The late afternoon is free to stroll around the city. We meet in the evening to enjoy dinner at the Night Market.

This morning we head northeast. After several small roads, we climb towards Phu Chi Fa and its endless switchbacks. A short 30-minute walk to see neighboring Laos again. We then descend from Phu Chi Fa to reach our comfortable hotel with an atypical owner.

Early departure: a long day awaits us! You mount your motorcycles heading southeast for about a hundred miles on a road with exhilarating turns amidst the mountains. You then turn due East into Doi Phu Kha National Park to reach a wild and wonderful place until you arrive at the district of Nan.
Nan, Lampang Stage 10/12 130 miles

This morning, we head southwest on a beautiful mountain road. We then reach the plains via Doi Pha Klong National Park to Lampang. Visit its famous Lanna-style temple, Wat Phra That Lampang Luang, distinguished by superb wood carvings.
Lampang - Chiang Mai Stage 11/12 87 miles
Lampang - Chiang Mai
Last day of this motorcycle trip in Thailand to return to Chiang Mai. Along the way, possibility to stop at the elephant conservation center, located 19 miles from Lampang. Arriving in Chiang Mai, we make a detour to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep to get a last view from above.

Chiang Mai
Depending on your flight schedule, you have time to enjoy the charming Chiang Mai for a few more hours. Transfer to the international airport.

This discovery tour suits all riders and couples: good, winding mountain roads including the Mae Hong Son loop, many temple visits and comfortable hotels. Thailand drives on the left. Passengers welcome.

Some stages are far from medical facilities: first aid and transport to the nearest medical center rely mainly on our support vehicle, as helicopters and ambulances are rare, and phone coverage can be patchy. As on any adventure route, road conditions depend on the weather during and before the trip.
