On the agenda
The diversity of landscapes and archaeological richness of Anatolia make it an ideal playground for a first Turkey motorcycle tour. During this Royal Enfield discovery tour, the Taurus mountains reveal small scenic roads that wind through alpine landscapes dotted with traditional villages. The coastal roads of the Mediterranean Sea offer breathtaking panoramas of the sea and white sandy beaches, always with the mountains in the background. Along the way, we explore the ancient sites of Aphrodisias and Patara, historic cities like Hierapolis with its ancient theater and Myra known for its rock-cut tombs. At each stop, we savor the delicious local cuisine: a blend of Asian, Oriental, and Mediterranean flavors such as dolmas (meat-stuffed vegetables) and the famous Loukoum pastries. All of this, wrapped in warm Turkish hospitality, makes our journey a sweet trip back in time. Turkey is a multifaceted country, so close yet so different, that surprises the traveler at every stage of their journey.

Arrival in Antalya Stage 1/7
Arrival in Antalya
Arrival in Antalya according to your flight schedule. Transfer to the hotel located in the historic old town (Kaleici). Antalya, a coastal city renowned for its fine sandy beaches and pleasant climate all year round, marks the beginning of your adventure. Here, at the gates of the Orient, one sometimes feels like they are still on an Europe motorcycle tour due to its proximity, while already diving into a completely different culture and landscapes. The city also offers many cultural attractions, including museums, mosques, and ancient ruins. Overnight in a standard hotel.
Antalya - Kas Stage 2/7 124 miles

We will leave the city, quickly gaining altitude towards Gul mountain on small roads with breathtaking views of its vast green expanses. We reach the highest point of 4265 feet, a beautiful spot to enjoy a glass of tea or a Turkish coffee. We descend to the coast to reach the fishing village of Finiket and enjoy a delicious meal of fish and seafood. We reach the town of Demre for a small cultural visit to Saint Nicholas Church, but especially to the ancient city of Myra. Before reaching Kas, we cross a small, very rocky coastal mountain area with beautiful green heather and small yellow flowers. We enjoy panoramic views of the sea and its mountains in the background, which lead to the view of the marina. Overnight in a modern standard hotel.
Kas - Dalyan Stage 3/7 130 miles
Kas - Dalyan
We leave the delightful small town of Kas in the morning to ride along the seaside for several tens of miles through a very rugged coast, punctuated by small cove-shaped beaches and canyons plunging into the mountain. We venture off the beaten path onto small mountain roads in this green valley that holds many secret places like the great Saklikent canyon where we will enjoy a magnificent walk on the cliffside pontoon to venture a few feet across the river. A small meal with our feet in the water a little further down the road before continuing past the ancient city of Tlos and its Lycian tombs. We pass through a few rare lost villages along the way. An opportunity to drink local coffee or tea, always available, which is an integral part of Turkish culture. Descending towards the coast, the mountains shrink to give way to mandarin, lemon, and dragon fruit plantations. After passing through Dalaman, we reach beautiful Dalyan via small secondary roads adorned with roses, riding along the edge of the bay to end this beautiful day in style. Overnight in a standard hotel.
Dalyan - Pamukkale Stage 4/7 155 miles
Dalyan - Pamukkale
We leave Dalyan after breakfast by the pool and start the day with a ferry crossing of the river, hoping to see some turtles passing by. On the other side of the bank, pretty, less-traveled roads await us, where we navigate between orange and pomegranate plantations while riding along the lake's edge, offering delightful viewpoints. The road then continues inland, gaining a little altitude, surrounded by pine forests. We leave the main road for smaller roads towards the archaeological site of Aphrodisias; a magnificent ancient Greco-Roman city with a grand theater and a well-stocked museum. On the last part of the day, we take a very small, sparsely inhabited mountain road where a few farmers and their sheep will not fail to greet you as we pass, and we will finally reach our day's stop, Pamukkale, in the late afternoon. An opportunity to discover the panorama of these petrified cascades that we will visit the next day before heading to our hotel and enjoying the evening. Overnight in a modern comfort hotel.
Pamukkale - Egirdir Stage 5/7 162 miles
Pamukkale - Egirdir
We start the day without the motorcycles, with a visit to the ancient ruins of Hierapolis, endowed with a thousand-year history, and Pamukkale, this unique site on earth where limestone rocks form terraced pools. On this day, we stay in low-altitude mountains around 3281 to 3937 feet, but enjoying natural landscapes as diverse as they are varied. We then have lunch by Lake Salda, nicknamed the Turkish Maldives due to its crystal-clear waters and white sandy beaches. It is considered one of the cleanest and most preserved lakes in Turkey. The lake road continues beautifully, first skirting a lake full of pink flamingos on the right, then a magnificent road running along Lake Burdur below. A subtle scent of lavender and rose will delight our nostrils as we reach the typical rose (gül) plantations of the region, adding a little more to the charm of this place. We continue our journey towards Eğirdir. A peaceful town with a peninsula on the eponymous lake. A vast expanse of water, at the foot of small mountains, where you can enjoy delicious fish such as sea bass (levrek), or even crayfish (kerevit). Overnight in a charming standard guesthouse.
Egirdir - Antalya Stage 6/7 117 miles
Egirdir - Antalya
We will not be left out on this last day, in the heart of wild nature. Starting with small roads surrounded by apple orchards. We reach the still little-explored archaeological site of Adada, then through the Yazili canyon. The adventure continues in these heavily wooded mountains, giving way to panoramas and terraced plantations at the foot of the mountains. And as we reach the large reservoir of the Karacaören dam, the road turns into an easy and rolling track for 6.2 miles. We rejoin a stretch of main road before taking the small cross roads that will bring us back to Antalya where we will dine in the old town with a striking sea view. Overnight in a standard hotel.

This discovery tour is very accessible: about 585 miles with only some 12 miles of easy gravel, beaches, mountains, lakes and canyons. Passengers welcome.

Some stages are far from medical facilities: first aid and transport to the nearest medical center rely mainly on our support vehicle, as helicopters and ambulances are rare, and phone coverage can be patchy. As on any adventure route, road conditions depend on the weather during and before the trip.
