Embracing the Unknown with Vintage Rides

Adventure is about broadening your horizons by delving into the unknown. This is the “raison d'être” of Vintage Rides, a premium agency for distinctive motorcycle adventures, created to encourage as many people as possible to embark on an adventure.

Vintage Rides has been running guided motorcycle tours since 2006: over 40 itineraries across Asia, Africa, South America and Europe, ridden by more than 15,000 riders.

Motorcycle Adventures Around the World, Since 2006

Every tour is led by an English-speaking motorcycle guide, backed by a local mechanic and a support vehicle that carries the luggage and spare parts. Airport transfers, hotels and most meals are arranged for you, so your only job is to ride.

Groups are kept small: no more than 12 people and 10 motorcycles per departure. That keeps the pace relaxed, the stops authentic and the evenings friendly, whether you travel solo, as a couple or with friends.

Each tour page details the route day by day, the riding level, what is included and the dates. You can browse all upcoming dates on our tour departure schedule.

India is where it all started: the Himalayas and Ladakh in summer, Rajasthan and South India in winter. See all our India motorcycle tours.

Closer to the desert, Morocco runs from the High Atlas to the Sahara dunes, and Madagascar opens its red-earth tracks. In Asia, ride the steppes of Mongolia, the mountains of Nepal and Bhutan.

In South America, follow Route 40 through Argentina or cross the Andes of Peru. In Europe, discover Turkey and Greece. And at home, our self-guided motorcycle rentals in the Black Hills are the easiest way to start. Browse all our guided motorcycle tours, destination by destination.

We ride Royal Enfield, the brand that carried our founder across India before he created Vintage Rides. Depending on the tour, you ride the Classic 350, smooth and easy on paved mountain roads, or the Himalayan 450, built for tracks, high passes and long days in the saddle.

Both are simple, robust and easy to handle, which makes them ideal for discovering a country at a human pace. Our mechanics maintain the bikes and follow the group on every riding day.

  • Guaranteed departures: join a small group of like-minded riders on a fixed departure date.
  • À la carte: ride one of our itineraries with your own group of friends, on the dates of your choice.
  • Tailor-made: our team designs a trip around your wishes, from the route to the level of comfort.

For almost twenty years, we have been designing motorcycle tours far from the usual tourist routes, with local teams who know every road. Around 2,300 riders travel with us each year, and our tours are rated 4.7 out of 5 in over 2,000 traveler reviews.

We believe a motorcycle is the best way to meet people: in remote villages, at a roadside tea stop or around the evening fire. That is what our riders remember most, long after the last pass.

Frequently asked questions

Your motorcycle with fuel and spare parts, an English-speaking motorcycle guide, a local mechanic, a support vehicle for your luggage, hotels, most meals on riding days and airport transfers. Each tour page lists exactly what is and is not included.

No, international flights are not included, so you can fly from the airport and on the airline that suit you. We pick you up at the arrival airport and take you back at the end of the tour.

In most of our destinations, you ride with your US driver’s license and an International Driving Permit, issued in the US by AAA or AATA. A few countries do not recognize the US permit, Mongolia for example: when you book, our team tells you exactly which documents you need.

You need a motorcycle license and regular riding experience on the road. Many of our tours are accessible to riders with little or no off-road experience; others include more tracks. Each tour page shows its level.

Yes, many of our tours welcome a passenger. Some routes with long off-road sections are better ridden solo: each tour page tells you whether it suits a passenger.

No more than 12 people and 10 motorcycles per departure, plus our guide, mechanic and support vehicle driver.

Choose your tour and date online, then pay a 50% deposit to confirm your place. A refundable security deposit for the motorcycle is also required.
