This Nepal motorbike tour will be a true challenge for riders who aren’t afraid to push their limits, featuring an extreme and unexpected itinerary. You will depart from Kathmandu to explore winding roads, remote villages, and breathtaking mountain landscapes. Through Mustang, the Forbidden Kingdom, you will face challenging tracks and vertiginous ascents. 1/15 • Arrival in Kathmandu – Patan

You arrive at the airport according to your flight schedule and are transferred to your hotel in Patan’s medieval district, close to Durbar Square (the Palace Square), an architectural wonder and UNESCO World Heritage site. Get ready for your Asia motorbike tour and enjoy the evening at your leisure.

2/15 • Patan - Bandipur
We leave Patan early, escaping the morning chaos via smaller roads before joining sections of the Pokhara highway. Gradually climbing into the hills, we reach Bandipur, a beautifully preserved village overlooking the valley. A final off-road ascent leads us to sweeping Himalayan views, weather permitting.

3/15 • Bandipur - Pokhara
Today we ride toward Pokhara, Nepal’s lively lakeside hub. Once a modest outpost, the city has grown into a crossroads for trekkers and travelers. Traffic and roadworks accompany us, but arrival is early enough to relax, explore the streets, or unwind before heading north tomorrow.

4/15 • Pokhara – Tatopani
Today we depart for Mustang! After about 50 miles the asphalt road comes to an end in Beni, giving way to the serious tracks. The trail goes up along the Kali Gandaki River as the valley becomes narrower and finally the first snowy peaks of the Annapurna, at over 8,000m high, come into view.

5/15 • Tatopani – Chuksang
Today we enter the grand, arid landscapes of Mustang. Towering mountains surround us as we climb from subtropical valleys through alpine forests to high-altitude desert, with Niligiri dominating the skyline. We stop for lunch in Kagbeni, gateway between Lower and Upper Mustang, before reaching the rustic village of Chuksang. In the late afternoon, an optional hike leads to cliffside caves overlooking Annapurna at sunset.

6/15 • Chuksang – Dhakmar
Today is short in terms of distance but it evokes the original vision of experiencing this austere, beautiful landscape by all means possible. Short sections of offroad that require all your skills, hikes to hidden caves, lunch in dusty roadside lodges, and finally - watching the setting sun as it paints the cliffs of Dhakmar red as we sip a hot cup of ginger tea from our guesthouse sunroom.

7/15 • Dhakmar – Lo Manthang
Our objective today is to arrive and have lunch in the old walled city of Lo Manthang, the ancient capital of the Lo Kingdom. The afternoon will be spent winding our way around the maze like streets of Lo Manthang visiting monasteries resplendent with ancient buddhist artwork, the sounds of prayer wheels spinning through the cold air.

8/15 • Lo Manthang
We spend a second night in Lo Manthang, but this is no rest day. One of the most varied days of the journey, it offers great off-road riding through the valleys surrounding the city. Remote villages, a high-altitude golf course, and short hikes to hidden monasteries set in a lunar landscape fill the day, leaving everyone tired, dusty, and smiling.

9/15 • Lo-Manthang – Tange
Another day exploring Mustang’s majestic and varied landscapes. We leave Lo Manthang in the morning, descending slowly south. A detour takes us toward the Kali Gandaki River and up into a remote valley. The old village of Tange, with its well-preserved Buddhist chortens, is our stop for the night, where we gather by the wood stove to share stories of the day’s ride.

10/15 • Tange – Samar
We will head up, over, and back down to the village of Tange as we connect back with the main road. We continue south passing villages and vistas we passed on the way up but they all take on a different beauty from our new perspective. Tonight is spent in Sarma which is perched directly above the canyons and the Annapurnas which rise up directly behind.

11/15 • Samar - Marpha
Today we cross back into lower mustang, but before that we head up to the famous Hindu/Buddhist temple of Muktinath with its pilgrims, trekkers, and sadhus. Always surrounded by the mountains, we spend the night in the quaint, well preserved village of Marpha.

12/15 • Marpha – Pokhara
We ride through rural, green Nepal, and landscapes change from one valley to the next. The winding road passes through traditional villages and terraced croplands. The last miles are exhilarating, and driving back into the city is dizzying. After the trip of a lifetime, it takes a bit of adjustment as we find ourselves back in civilisation.

13/15 • Pokhara – Darechok
We leave Pokhora and now we encounter more traffic, greenery and the daily life of another Nepal. We will traverse dusty backroads as we work our way towards Darechok for the night.

14/15 • Darechok - Kathmandu
Today is the last day, but stay focused! We will be surrounded by vans and rumbling old buses as we slowly approach the metropolis of Kathmandu and its juxtaposition of ancient and modern all swirled together in one valley. We will be glad to arrive at the hotel and step off of our bikes. We will enjoy a last meal and beer all together as we say our goodbyes and start looking forward to the next adventure.

This raid is designed for experienced riders and features long stages at high altitudes, including passes over 4,500 meters, often far from immediate medical assistance. Primary aid in reaching the nearest medical center is provided by our support vehicle, as helicopters and ambulances are rarely available. Limited phone coverage and restrictions on satellite phones can make contacting emergency services challenging. Additionally, as with any mountain route, road quality and difficulty are heavily influenced by current and prior weather conditions
