I loved the landscapes and the Sri Lankans. The colors are vivid, the landscapes varied. The Sri Lankans are smiling and welcoming. The paths are really bumpy and require a lot of attention because of the ostrich nests and their composition, with loamy sand and large stones used as paving stones. The paths and roads can be quite surprising. Dogs sleep in the middle of the asphalt where it's warm. Cows roam freely on the pavement. The touk touk is a real eel in urban traffic. Sometimes on a 2-lane road with 4 vehicles. Survival of the fittest is the rule. The bus or truck has authority over the car, the car over the touk touk, the touk touk over the motorcycle, and you over bikes and pedestrians.

My trip corresponded to my expectations and to what was landscapes, motorcycle rides, encounters with local people and their welcome in remote villages. The only downside was that a Himalayan 410 would have been more appropriate for Laos, with its very poor road network and lots of off-road riding, much to my delight. Lots of good memories
