Adventure motorcycle training: hone your adventure riding skills!

Adventure motorcycle training builds the skills and confidence you need before your first adventure tour, or brushes them up if you have been off the dirt for a while. You train on a Royal Enfield Himalayan with certified instructors, in small groups, then put it into practice on real trails.

At our academy in Anse, in the Beaujolais hills 30 minutes north of Lyon: a one-day training (from $490), the three-day level 1 course (from $1,190) with two days of trail riding, and a level 2 course for riders with real off-road experience. March to November, 8 riders maximum. Instructors certified by the French Motorcycling Federation, teaching in French and English.

Two days at a lodge near Dolgellau, on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park: off-road training in Wales on the Himalayan 450, taught in English, 6 riders maximum, $990. The trails are narrow and rocky: better if you have a little experience.

Standing on the pegs, slow-speed balance, braking on loose surfaces, obstacles and off-camber slopes, line choice and body position on sand, mud and climbs. Then you apply it all on real trails. These courses are not a riding school: you should already be comfortable riding on the road.

Adventure motorcycle training: FAQ

In France, at our academy in the Beaujolais near Lyon, and in Wales, near Dolgellau in Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park.

In France, from $490 for one day and $1,190 for the three-day level 1 course. In Wales, $990 for two days with two nights at the lodge.

Yes for the level 1 courses in France, as long as you already ride confidently on the road. The one-day training suits riders with a first taste of off-road, and the Wales trails are better with a little experience.

A Royal Enfield Himalayan: the 411 in France, the 450 in Wales.

In France, yes: approved full-face helmet, jacket with back protector, boots, reinforced gloves and pants with knee protection. In Wales, gear can be provided if needed.
