Motorcycle rental

It’s a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 by the day, picked up at our garage in Rapid City, South Dakota, with no guide, no group and no hotels booked for you: you plan the ride, then bring the bike back. It suits riders who are at ease on their own and want the Black Hills on their own schedule. Rental is a format, not a difficulty rating: our three suggested loops range from easy canyon roads to tight hairpins.

New to the area or short on time? The Northern Hills fits in half a day, through Spearfish Canyon and Deadwood, on the gentlest roads. The Southern Hills takes a full day on Iron Mountain Road and the Needles Highway, the most technical riding of the three, with the Needles closed in winter. The Badlands is the longest day, best in May, June or September, before the summer heat. With three days, ride all three.

A rental gives you the bike and leaves the rest to you: route, lodging, meals. Both work. Each Himalayan 450 carries one passenger, and you pay per motorcycle, not per person; tell us when you book and we bring a helmet for your passenger as well. For a group, our Rapid City fleet counts ten bikes, and you can reserve every one of them for the same dates, each rider on their own machine. Planning a group ride in August? $130 per bike per day, plus 11.9% South Dakota sales tax, with no minimum outside the Sturgis Rally: a single day comes to $145.47, and three days to cover every loop $390 before tax. From August 6 to 15, 2027, Rally days are $200 each, three days minimum. Add gas, meals and your own lodging. Unlike our tours, a rental carries no registration fee.

Each Himalayan 450 leaves the garage with side cases, a phone and GPS mount, a tool kit, Custer State Park and Black Hills National Forest passes, and 24/7 phone support; GPX tracks are free on request.
