Welcome to Mongolia! Get ready for an extraordinary motorcycle tour in Asia! One of our local guides will meet you at the airport and take you to the hotel. Free day, during which you can visit Ulaanbaatar, the famous Mongolian capital. The hotel enjoys an ideal central location in Ulaanbaatar, perfect for exploring the city before hitting the road for an unforgettable experience.
Ulaanbaatar - Dashinchilen Stage 2/10 134 miles, including 8.1 miles of trail
Ulaanbaatar - Dashinchilen
After breakfast and a private vehicle transfer of about 9.3 miles, we meet our Royal Enfield Himalayans, and it's time for the big departure! We pass herds of sheep, cows, and goats. Overnight stay in the village's only guesthouse, simple and clean, a solid room is already a luxury!

The Middle Road, one of the major asphalted routes crossing this immense country, which we follow due west through the steppe, is mesmerizing with its infinite straight lines and rare curves. But to avoid falling asleep at the handlebars, we take off-road detours from time to time, allowing us to see a hamlet or a royal ruin.

An exceptional day awaits us, as the landscapes are stunning. And we'll barely see any asphalt today. We've fully entered what you came for! The trails are mostly very smooth, and it's a real joy to ride them on our little Indian Trail bike.

The trail leads us to the heart of the Orkhon River valley, with several fords and small passes. The landscapes become more mountainous. The steppe gradually gives way to the rolling landscapes of the foothills of the volcanic Khangai mountains. Arrival in the mid-afternoon at our hosts' place, not far from the Orkhon Falls.

In the early morning, we rediscover our camp. We take advantage of the calm to reach one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the region. Upon return, we help the head of the family prepare a typical nomadic dish. Departure after lunch, trail riding and slalom between volcanic stones are on the agenda.
Talbiun - Karakorum Stage 7/10 47 miles, including 44 miles of trail
Talbiun - Karakorum
We ride northeast on beautiful trails. We follow the Orkhon River one last time. For lunch, we arrive in the ancient capital of Genghis Khan's empire: Karakorum. We immerse ourselves in the history of the capital and the steppe empires that succeeded one another before and after Genghis Khan, in the city museum, then go for lunch.

Karakorum - Khogno Khaan
Today we aim for the Khogno Khan dunes, nicknamed the Little Gobi. The steppe winds carry sand to the foot of Mount Khögnö Khan (6453 feet), thus forming a long strip of dunes about 50 miles long, called Elsen Tasarkhai (“fragmented dunes”). We'll get our fill of trails and wild riding, as the end of the trip is approaching.

Khogno Khaan - Ulaanbaatar
We hit the road for Ulaanbaatar. We take a magnificent ribbon of asphalt crossing the desert plain, then the steppe. A last day of immersion in these grandiose landscapes. We arrive in the capital in the mid-afternoon. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight in a basic hotel.

Ulaanbaatar
Free day for those with a late flight. We enjoy the unique atmosphere of this capital, both rugged and welcoming. Ulaanbaatar is a city that leaves no one indifferent. A taxi will pick you up at the hotel to take you directly to the airport.

  • Third-party motorcycle insurance.

  • Mandatory insurance: insurance covering medical expenses on site. Repatriation assistance, which covers you in case of 2-wheel accidents (large displacement).

  • Legal insurance and cancellation insurance highly recommended.

  • International driving permit.

About 70% of this adventure tour runs on steppe tracks, mostly easy to ride, with a few river crossings: you should ride regularly and be happy on gravel and grass. Passengers welcome if you are both used to long days on gravel. Some nights are in yurt camps, with simple comfort.

Some stages are far from medical facilities: first aid and transport to the nearest medical center rely mainly on our support vehicle, as helicopters and ambulances are rare, and phone coverage can be patchy. As on any adventure route, road conditions depend on the weather during and before the trip.
