Welcome at the airport and transfer to the hotel in the city center. Your room is available from 12 PM. Two possibilities: you can rest after your flight at your hotel or take the opportunity to discover the bustling capital before the grand departure of your motorcycle trip in India. Overnight at the hotel.
Delhi - Naggar
2/15 • Delhi - Naggar
Free day in Delhi then meeting for all participants at the hotel in the late afternoon. Transfer to the bus station. Departure for Naggar by overnight bus. * Overnight in a comfortable and air-conditioned bus.
Naggar - Thirthan Valley
3/15 • Naggar - Thirthan Valley
Departure after lunch, to refresh and rest a bit. This stage serves as a gentle introduction to your machine, on mountain roads surrounded by forests. Many turns, and more turns, in invigorating air. We arrive in the remote Thirthan Valley.

We retrace the course of the Thirthan, before tackling the Jalori Pass (10171 feet). Nice descent into the Sutlej Valley, then we ride to Sarahan, which marks the entrance to Kinnaur.

We ride up the Sutlej Valley on the famous Hindustan-Tibet road. Towards the end of the route, we leave the main valley to take a narrow road that plunges into a rocky gorge before opening onto an alpine valley, up to Sangla, a small village at 8202 feet altitude dominated by an old fort.

We continue towards the Tibetan plateau. As we ascend northeast, the verdant landscapes give way to a mineral and desert world. The last part of this day opens up the landscapes of the High Himalayas. Overnight in Nako, a charming, typically Tibetan village, situated at 11811 feet altitude.

Departure north, into the Spiti Valley. Arrival in Tabo, whose monastery is one of the oldest Tibetan Buddhist sites. Still heading north, we reach Kaza, the 'capital' of Spiti.

A 'rest' day today, halfway through the trip. We set off to visit the impressive gompa (monastery) of Dhankhar, perched on a ridge, before continuing to the tiny village of Lallung. Return to Kaza for lunch.

A short but diverse stage, which takes us to the high-perched village of Kibber, at 13780 feet altitude. Visit the village of Kibber, surrounded by peaks over 18045 feet altitude.

We descend near Kaza and continue northwest. We cross the Kunzum Pass (15092 feet), which separates Spiti from Lahaul. Towards the end of the route, the approach via a bumpy track to Chandra Tal - 'Moon Lake' - situated at 13780 feet altitude, should leave you with an eternal memory!

We descend the Chandra Valley then cross the Rohtang Pass at 13058 feet, a border between two worlds: on one side the mineral world of Tibetan culture, on the other the Indian world and the superb Kullu Valley, 'Valley of the Gods'. The descent towards Manali, at 6562 feet altitude, is impressive with countless zigzags.

This expedition is reserved for experienced riders. It includes long stages at high altitude (passes > 14764 feet), far from first aid. Primary assistance to reach the nearest medical center is mainly provided by our support vehicle, as means such as helicopters or ambulances are very rare. Limited telephone networks and the prohibition of satellite phones can make contact with emergency services difficult. As with any mountain itinerary, the quality of the roads and the difficulty of the route depend on weather conditions during and before the trip.
