As one of the most iconic USA motorcycle tours riders dream about, this self-guided journey takes you from the engineering marvels of the Needles Highway and the Pigtail Bridges to unforgettable wildlife encounters in Custer State Park, blending breathtaking scenery with rich American history. Stand before Mount Rushmore, cruise into Sturgis and Deadwood, carve through Spearfish Canyon, and experience the spirit of the American West at every turn.

1/3 • Rapid City - Custer
After picking up your motorcycle in Rapid City, you will head straight for the Hills! Flanked by evergreens, wildlife, and amazing views, you will experience back roads that are true engineering marvels, twisting and turning through rugged mountain landscapes. These legendary roads are a true highlight of our America motorcycle tours, and have made the Black Hills a bucket list ride for motorcyclists around the globe. Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse await on your way to your home for the night, the vibrant frontier town of Custer.

2/3 • Custer - Deadwood
This morning brings possible close encounters with bison, pronghorn, and prairie dogs as you make your way through Custer State Park. From prairies to peaks, you will be amazed at the total change of scenery today! Meandering along the shores of glistening lakes in the shade of towering pines, you will cross the mountains and make your way into the legendary town of Sturgis, the town that plays host to hundreds of thousands of motorcyclists during the world-famous rally. The historic town of Deadwood will be your stop for the night, another legendary Old West icon.

3/3 • Deadwood - Rapid City
After taking in some of Deadwood’s incredible history, you’ll make your way to Spearfish Canyon, a route known for spectacular riding roads, scenery, hiking, and swimming. As you pass through Lead, stop in at the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitors Center, where you will learn how the Northern Hemishpere’s deepest gold mine became the home of groundbreaking research and Nobel Prize-winning scientific innovations. From there, winding back roads will carry you back into Rapid City, where you will return your motorcycle.
